Developing a good SEO strategy for your company can be overwhelming. Saint MGMT has come up with a list of top 5 guidelines you should go by when developing a solid SEO strategy.
#1 Publish content that is relevant to your audience
Identify a keyword phrase for each page
Determine how your reader might search for the page and use the phrase several times throughout the page (once or twice in opening and closing paragraphs and two to four more times in the remaining content).
Use bold, italics, heading tags, and other emphasis tags to highlight keyword phrases.
#2 Update content on a regular basis
Content that is old and stale may not rank as well.
Fresh content is engaging, up-to-date, leverages new keyword, leads to lower bounce rates, etc.
#3 Always include Metadata
Meta issues impact how search engines process your pages and display them in results.
Title Tags: All of your pages should have title tags that summarize the content on the page. Keep your title to 60 characters or less to ensure that customers see your full title. Each tag should be unique to the page, and include the top keywords your audience is searching for.
Meta Descriptions: Meta descriptions are a very important in improving click-through rates on SERPs (search engine results page). When a meta description is missing, search engines and social media sites will pull in the first matching text they find on page. The meta description should employ keywords in an intelligent and compelling way that encourages a searcher to click. Keep the length to 55-160 characters.
#4 Include contextual links within the copy. Don’t say “click here.”
#5 Use an ALT tag or ALT text within every IMG tag
